Project Mama Village Widows: A Journey of Hope and Empowerment
In 2013, The Corinth’s Humanitarian Foundation (TCHF) took its first bold step into philanthropy with Project Mama Village Widows—a mission of compassion, resilience, and change.
Nestled in the remote landscape of Mama Village, Nassarawa State, this small but determined community of widows had long struggled to sustain themselves through farming. Isolated and underserved, they embodied strength in the face of adversity. Determined to make a lasting impact, TCHF and its team of dedicated volunteers traveled three hours from the nearest town to stand beside these women—offering support, encouragement, and vital resources to uplift their livelihoods.
Empowering Resilient Women, One Step at a Time
This initiative was more than just a visit—it was a pledge to recognize, uplift, and empower. Through:
- Direct financial and material assistance to ease their daily burdens.
- Encouragement and solidarity to remind them they are not alone.
- Long-term support strategies to help improve their economic independence.
A Lasting Impact
By the end of the outreach, 42 widows had received essential support, sparking a ripple effect of hope throughout the village. More than aid, TCHF left behind a promise—a commitment to continue working towards a world where no one is left behind.
The Beginning of a Movement
Project Mama Village Widows was the first chapter of TCHF’s humanitarian journey. It set the foundation for our ongoing work in healthcare, education, and community empowerment across Nigeria.
